🎊The Ichiden Ryu Training Camp 2024 was a HUGE Success🎊

Hello everyone. Thank you for reading this article. I’m Shogo from Let’s ask Shogo, the interpreter of the online lessons and owner of this website.

We are happy to announce that the Asayama Ichiden Ryu Training Camp 2024 was a HUGE success. Although we were a little anxious because it was all new to us, we successfully completed the three days of training without any major problems. We learned a lot of details that we cannot usually learn in online lessons, and we experienced the difficulty of practicing Kenjutsu and Iaijutsu with a partner. The new friends we made worldwide were also invaluable to us.

🎫Purchase the Tickets to the Videos of the Training Camp

If you did not attend this camp, there is a way for you to watch what we experienced. We had a professional photographer film all three days of training. We will edit that material and share the video in a month or so. Those who attended are encouraged to use it as a review, and those who did not are encouraged to prepare for next year and beyond. It is available for purchase from the Patreon Shop.

🗡️What we Trained:

  1. Batto Kihon
  2. Tsumemokuroku
  3. Kotéuchi 22 Kajō (Basic 22 Kenjutsu exercises)
  4. Muhi Ryu Iai Kata (Tenchi, Jūgō, Jinpū, Senden, Sayū-giri, Mukōzumé, Ushirozumé)
  5. Shinkage Ryu (Yundénuki, Menpōwari Atamauchi)
  6. Asayama Ichiden Ryu Kenjutsu Kata (Sujikai ver.2, Ensō)

It was a huge success! And everyone I spoke with had a great time. We enjoyed training with Seki Sensei in person, as well as the other sensei and our fellow students. Some people weren’t even online students, yet came anyway and expressed an interest in joining the online class after the camp. Yeah, I’d say that’s a success.

What a fantastic training camp! Not only did we get to train with all the Sensei’s, but were able to meet are fellow students which was a ton of fun! Seeing how excited and dedicated everyone was to learning was amazing. Getting to eat with everyone and stay at the ryokan together really brought us closer and made us feel like a family. I cant wait to attend future training camps, as this is only the beginning!
