We’re thrilled to announce that promotion exams are now officially starting within the Negishi-Ryu Shuriken Online Lessons, which began in August 2025!

There are two kyu (level) exams — 2nd kyu and 1st kyu. Since this will be the very first promotion exam, all current online lesson members will begin by challenging the 2nd kyu exam.

🥋 How the Exams Work

All kyu exams will be conducted online, while dan exams will take place in person during the annual Negishi-Ryu Camp — held every August.

On the final day of the camp, we plan to invite the headmaster (Soke) to oversee the official dan promotion exam: https://asayamaichidenryu.shop/products/neigishi-ryu-ichiden-ryu-shuriken-jutsu-training-camp-2026-e-ticket

That means —
• The first promotion exam will be held this November.
• The second one will follow in May next year.
• And about three months later, the first dan exam will take place!

So, if you join the upcoming promotion exam, you could even earn your Shodan (first dan) as early as August next year! ⚡️

🌍 Join Online or In Person

Don’t worry — even if you can’t take the online exam, you’ll still have the chance to take it on-site during the camp in Japan.

After obtaining Shodan, those who are recognized by the Soké headmaster will gradually be given permission to start local club activities — an exciting step toward spreading the art worldwide.
