Do you want to establish a dojo to teach Asayama Ichiden-ryū in your area someday? You can actually make that dream a reality.
Let me explain how the process works.
- Please take our online lessons and pass the Dan promotion exams.
- Participate in the annual three-day training camp held in Japan.
Once you pass the third dan and have participated in the camp at least once, you can take the examination to become a “club leader.”

A “club leader” is similar to an assistant instructor who can teach beginners the content up to the third dan.
You cannot recruit students on a large scale, charge students fees, or post freely on social media. Please understand that your role is to assist in Seki Sensei’s instruction.
Next, if you pass the fifth dan and have participated in the camp three times or more as a club leader, you can take the examination to become a “branch leader.”
A branch leader is a position similar to a master instructor who can teach all the content of the online lessons.
You can establish your branch, recruit students widely, and charge fees for teaching.
Both the club leader and branch leader examinations include interviews where we will ask about your reasons for wanting to become an instructor of Asayama Ichiden-ryū and your future goals.
Please expect to take at least two years to become a club leader and about five years to become a branch leader.
However, please understand that ultimately, only those recognized by Seki Sensei can teach Asayama Ichiden-ryū, regardless of their skill level.
We have set the goal of “reviving the golden age of 7,000 students,” but we have no intention of easily granting anyone the authority to teach Asayama Ichiden-ryū.
