Hello everyone. Thank you for reading this article. I’m Shogo from Let’s ask Shogo, the interpreter of the online lessons and owner of this website.
We are happy to announce that we have made the decision to hold “online tournaments” in our Musō Shinden Ryu online lessons. This will be the perfect opportunity for the students to show Seki Sensei and everyone their progress, as we enjoy competing with each other. We really hope it’ll be a good motivation for everyone to work hard on their training.
Shogo will randomly choose the order of the tournament from among the participants. Two people at a time will perform the designated Kata, and one of them will win the game. The final winner is the one who wins all matchups. The winner will receive a certificate.
However, please be careful that the tournaments will be held only in the Musō Shinden Ryu online lessons. Asayama Ichiden Ryu doesn’t have a system where the students can compete with each other. So instead, we have the “Online Enbu Performance” event held two times a year. This is an opportunity for the students of Asayama Ichiden Ryu to perform their favorite Kata while Seki Sensei and the other students watch you. The performances will be recorded, and if you do especially well, you can appear on our YouTube channel Let’s ask Seki Sensei. If you want to learn more about this event, please check out our Asayama Ichiden Ryu page.
